Course Description:  Epilepsy is the fourth leading neurological disorder, and is characterized by unpredictable seizures.  Autistic Spectrum Disorder is a brain development disorder that is characterized by social interaction difficulties, communication complexities and the repetition of behaviors.  Prior research has indicated the prevalence of epilepsy and Autistic Spectrum Disorder co-existing in up to 45% of individuals with Autistic Spectrum Disorder. This advanced brief course explores the co-morbidity of epilepsy on the symptoms of Autistic Spectrum Disorder, and seeks to fill the gap in research literature.
