Couples Therapy Delivered Through Videoconferencing: Effects of Relationship Outcomes, Mental Health, and the Therapeutic Alliance
(1 CE Hour)
The tradition of psychotherapy has shifted from an in-person face to face experience, to the use of technology to provide access to those individuals who may not be able to attend therapy in the traditional way. Research has demonstrated the efficacy of videoconferencing in telehealth with individuals, though it is limited in exploring the use of videoconferencing psychotherapy with couples. This 1 hour course reviews a brief peer-reviewed article which explores the effects on relationship outcomes through the use of videoconferencing in the couple’s therapy environment.
