Through the completion of this course, learners will gain awareness of what knowledge and skills are necessary in addressing Professional Ethics and Boundaries in Professional Psychotherapy. This is accomplished through defining ethics, exploring the Code of Ethics for the four prominent professional associations in the behavioral health field, identify the concept of competency, and examine confidentiality. Additionally, the issues of boundaries within the psychotherapy environment, and strategies to promote an ethical practice are explored. This three hour course is designed to satisfy the requirements for Florida Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapist, and Mental Health Counselors.
